The Rev. Fr. Charles Okoye is a Catholic priest, ordained in 1992. He received his Master’s in Theology in 1996 at the Catholic Institute of West Africa, CIWA, Port Harcourt City, Nigeria; with affiliation to the University of Calabar, Nigeria.
Fr. Charles completed his four units of CPE with Beth Israel and Seafarers, Manhattan, New York, and got his certification with the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC) in 2006. Prior to coming to Stony Brook Medicine in 2017, Fr. Charles worked at Hackensack University Medical Center (now Hackensack Meridian), and St. Barnabas Medical Center, both in New Jersey. While working at Stony Brook medicine, he functions as a priest chaplain with the Diocese of Rockville Center, Long Island, New York. Fr. Charles speaks English and Igbo.
